Day 3: Shekhawati – Bikaner (220 Kms/4h)

After breakfast, depart for Bikaner in the Thar Desert. In the afternoon, we visit Junagarh Fort. Mughal-era temples and palaces, such as the exquisite Karan Mahal (late 17th century), were built in red sandstone and marble, marking the beginning of the concept of 'cosmopolitanism.' In the main courtyard, ponds and Carrara marble kiosks add a touch of languid hedonism to this imposing complex. Overnight stay at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)

Day 4: Bikaner – Pushkar – Jaipur (250 Kms/5h30)

Departure for Jaipur, with a stop en route in Pushkar, a small village lost in a magnificent setting on the edge of one of India's most sacred lakes, situated amidst the hills. Visit the only temple in India dedicated to Brahma, the Hindu creator god. Visit the local market. Continue to Jaipur, the 'Pink City,' capital of Rajasthan, founded in the 18th century. It is one of the most colorful and picturesque cities in India. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)

Day 5: Jaipur – Amber Fort – Jaipur

We depart to visit Amber Fort, the capital of the ancient Rajput Empire. The palace halls and a small temple dedicated to the goddess Kali are situated around a pleasant Mughal garden. Afterwards, we will continue the visit of Jaipur. Built in the 16th century, Jaipur is one of the most colorful and picturesque cities in India. You will visit the "Jantar Mantar," an astonishing observatory built by a prince passionate about astronomy. You will pass by the famous "Hawa Mahal," the Palace of the Winds, undoubtedly Jaipur’s most famous monument, an architectural fantasy with an immense baroque facade made of pink sandstone (which we admire from the outside). Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)

Day 6: Jaipur – Fatehpur Sikri – Agra (260 Kms/5h)

Departure by road towards Agra. On the way, visit Fatehpur Sikri, the ancient and astonishing capital built by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1571 and abandoned after a few years. It is one of the most remarkable places from an artistic and architectural point of view that you will discover. The imperial city contains a wide variety of palaces, columned buildings, pavilions, courtyards and ponds, mosques, and caravanserais. Its buildings, both sober and baroque, form an extraordinary synthesis of the most diverse architectural styles. You will continue towards Agra. Agra is one of the highlights of Mughal art and architecture. Its two most prestigious monuments, the Red Fort and the Taj Mahal, illustrate the aesthetic perfection achieved by Hindu-Muslim art under the Mughal dynasty. Visit the Red Fort, whose enormous pink sandstone walls face the Yamuna River. It contains genuine treasures of white marble and red sandstone, carved and inlaid with colored stones, audience halls, gardens, houses, ponds, and mosques... Founded by Akbar, it marks the birth of the imperial Mughal style. Shah Jahan was imprisoned there by his son and, from his cell, he could admire the Taj Mahal, the tomb of his beloved wife. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)

Day 7: Agra – Delhi (220 Kms/4h30)

We visit the Taj Mahal (closed on fridays), a luminous white marble mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his late wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is undoubtedly the most famous monument in India and is said to be the eighth wonder of the world. Built in a garden on the banks of the Yamuna River, this marvelous monument, with its inlay of semi-precious stones in white marble, celebrates the memory of a woman and immortalizes the love the emperor had for her. Then, departure by road to Delhi. Visit Delhi, the capital of India and the Indian Union since 1060 when the Tomar Rajput clan chose it as the seat of their government. Formerly known as Indraprastha, its origins are lost in Vedic times. Discover Qutub Minar, the famous minaret and fantastic monument standing 73 meters tall in a park where many turquoise parrots nest. It is one of the oldest monuments in Delhi (12th century). Visit the Sikh Temple and then take a walk through New Delhi. You will see the triumphal arch, India Gate, and the Presidential Palace. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included)
